Surf Events
Good waves were on offer at this year Junior Surf Classic. Contest organizer Michael Munga Barry moved the competition to Broadbeach were contestable 2 -3 foot waves were to be had.
Top junior surfers from the Sunshine Coast to Ballina had entered to take out top honors in the 16's, 19's and Girls division.
A Guaruda Airline ticket to Bali was up for grabs in the 19's. Munga Weapons Surfboard was hand shaped for the 16's and new cosmetics "Yes Mistress" was the main prize for the Girls.
A Gold Coast field set the stage for the girls final with Stephanie Gilmore taking first place, Sheridan Sheilds in second and Lauren Mcgregor in third. All girls look to have a bright future as they showed they can mix it with the best.
It was a Sunshine Coast tussle in the 16's final with every surfer pushing it all the way in a very exciting
final Wade Goodall going the distance in a head to head dual with Julian Wilson in 2nd.
A very tight fought 19's final was held in deteriorating conditions but did not stop the surfers showing their high performance surfing with Leigh Sedley in first and Corey Ziems 2nd.
Heaps of prizes were donated from all of the sponsors, as Godfathers of the Ocean would like to thank all companies involved who donated to make this event possible.
